Javed Anwar has completed his doctoral research in girls’ education in Balochistan – Pakistan from RMIT University Australia. He explored policy texts, interviews and field observations to develop an innovative analytical approach entitled postcolonial Islamic governmentality. His PhD research has made significant contributions to the field of gender equality and education, especially for young female learners in Pakistan. His PhD research, building on three Master’s degrees in Political Science, Public Policy and Management, and Education, Gender and International Development, is concerned with the policy, cultural and development challenges related to girls’ education in Balochistan.

Dr Anwar is currently working as the provincial Secretary of the Sports and Youth Affairs Department in the Government of Balochistan, Pakistan. He has extensive experience as a senior district and provincial-level public servant in Balochistan in education policy development and policy practice.
