Bio
Danielle Flack is a current Doctor of Philosophy candidate at Deakin University, where her research focuses on young people’s transitions through education and work in times of uncertainty and disruptions. Her doctoral project, Navigating Uncertainty, Change and Crisis: Young People’s Education, Training, and Employment Pathways in Post-Pandemic Geelong, sits at the intersection of youth sociology, education, and work studies. Using a participatory methodology, the research explores the lived experiences of young people in the Geelong region as they navigate a future shaped by social, economic, and environmental change and crisis.
With a background in education and career development, Danielle has taught English, Humanities, and Career Education across a range of secondary schools in both metropolitan and regional settings. These experiences have shaped her interest in the post-school journeys of young people, particularly in relation to the structural challenges and personal uncertainties that characterise contemporary education and employment pathways.
